GW Bush Expected to throw the 1st ball

Mark Lerner said [reported here] that barring a national crisis, President Bush will be throwing out the first pitch. "He's been warming up since December, I understand," said Mr. Lerner.

Notably, the highway signs use the word "park" rather then the more specific terms "ball-park" or stadium, given this mammoth structure's intrusion upon NCPC's South Capitol Mall.
Yes "park" is a shorter word, but that leaves the space for adding the "W" (for Washington, or the current US President).

South Capitol Commons Dead?

The 2005 NCPC South Capitol Street report featured the traffic oval/park -- the "South Capitol Commons -- that was essentially the replacement for the aborted promenade showcased by U.S. NCPC's 1997 "Extending the Legacy: Planning America's Capital for the 21st Century."

Yet the more recent model illustrated at the url below shows South Capitol Street WITHOUT it.
