Washington (AP) - Plans for the new Washington Nationals ballpark have gained the support of the National Capital Planning Commission. The agency's board voted unanimously Thursday to approve the first phase of the 41,000 seat stadium to be built on 19 acres along South Capitol Street.
Still, some board members remain concerned the project could obstruct views of the Capitol. The board voted to approve a measure calling for further review of any future changes to the stadium's design.
